“DTEK” During the last seven years 17 power-generating units of Ukrainian Thermal Power Plants (TPP) were upgraded, and 15 of them were renovated by DTEK. In November 2015, the company has successfully completed the upgrade of power-generating unit No.3 at DTEK Zaporozhye TPP which was stopped for the maintenance and renovation on 15 November 2013. It is difficult to revalue an increase of the Plant effectiveness during this difficult for power system period in Ukraine. Due to the shortage of coal the TPPs of the “CentrEnergo” and “DonbasEnergo” operate using the limited composition of power-generating units therefore it is the DTEK Thermal Power Plants basic load duty to ensure customers with power. Zaporozhye TPP has also passed to the increased mode of operation. “In the energy crisis environment it was important to complete power-generating unit No.3 upgrade until the beginning of winter. Currently our Plant can increase the power generation that will allow partially compensating facilities which failed, using anthracite coal. TPPs which use gas as a fuel should produce maximum power” – said Mr. Sergey Kurilenko, DTEK Zaporozhye TPP Director.
